Wendy Rogers, director of CHART, featured in the Illini News as the University of Illinois joins the Age-friendly University Global Network

The University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign is now a member of the Age-friendly University Global Network, which Wendy Rogers took the initiative to incorporate the U of I into. The network strives to provide “an inclusive approach to healthy and active aging.” While the university already has several techniques for inclusion of older adults,  Chancellor Jones hopes that membership in the AFU will help maintain the involvement of older adults as well as understand areas of improvement.

CHART researcher Dr. Shannon Mejia, and Human Factors & Aging Laboratory Post-Doctoral Research Associate Dr. Allura Lothary were invited speakers in the Clark-Lindsey Village Ageism Virtual Series earlier in the semester speaking about different aspects of how ageism affects older adults in our society.   Their talks were recorded and may be viewed below:

Mudar and Rogers, professors at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, are involved in multiple research projects to make online conversation platforms, smartphone apps, and other technology easier for older adults to use.
